The Green Button Alliance is accepting nominations from its Participating Member companies to fill two seats on the Green Button Alliance’s Board of Directors for the 2026 year.

Participating Member companies’ representatives received nomination information via email on the 6th of October and they can nominate a candidate from their company, or from another Participating Member company, to run in GBA’s 2026 Board of Directors election — with voting to take-place in this quarter.

All employees of Participating Member companies are eligible to be nominated to run for a seat on the GBA’s Board of Directors.

Nominations closed on 17 October 2025.
Election results will be announced following the election in 2025Q4.

The two new Directors will commence their positions on the Green Button Alliance’s Board of Directors on 01 January 2026.

About GBA's Board of Directors

GBA’s Board of Directors collaborate to broaden adoption of standards-based Green Button^™ data technologies that enable energy and water utilities to offer secure, customer data-access and -sharing platforms and new services that leverage standardized Green Button utility customer data.

The Board is kept intentionally small to enable fast-and effective decision-making, yet includes peer-elected Participating Member representatives to ensure that a diversity of opinions and company types are represented: from utilities, to vendors that serve utilities; and from third-party service providers, to government representatives.

Sponsoring Members delegate a Board representative. Participating Member elections to the Board of Directors are held in the second half of each year for the coming year’s representation.

The two seats available for Participating Member company representation include:

- A two-year seat — for the candidate garnering the most votes.
- A one-year seat — for the candidate with the next-most number of votes.

Below are the current Directors. The ballot-box icon (🗳️) denotes voting members of the Board. Other members ex officio are nonvoting. Elected Participating Members will be voting members of the Board.
