Professional Bio
Jacob has spent well over a decade working across the global energy sector, from renewables and grid services in British Columbia to oil and gas in Abu Dhabi, with the last five years focused on making distributed energy resources work at scale.
At Itron, he drives the global DERMS product line and customer experience strategy, focused on improving how energy data is accessed and used across the grid edge. Before that, he built DER management and VPP services at Generac Grid Services (formerly Enbala), from early-stage concepts through to commercial products. Across every role, he's been focused on turning DER technology into deployable, commercial reality, because getting that right is what actually moves the energy transition forward.
Jacob holds a Master of Engineering in Clean Energy Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He lives in Squamish, BC, a small mountain town between the Coast Mountains and the Pacific, where he spends his time hiking, climbing, mountain biking, and skiing.
