Green Button Alliance Announces Results of 2021 Board of Directors Election
The Green Button Alliance concluded its sixth annual Board of Directors election and is pleased to announce the addition of its new board members: James “Jay” Lewis, CEO, Big Data Energy Services was elected to serve in a two-year seat; Jeff Hendler, CEO, Logical Buildings was elected to a one-year seat and John Anderson, Director of Energy Markets, OhmConnect was re-elected to another one-year term. In addition, on 12 January, Officers of the board Syed Mir, London Hydro (GBA Chair), Daniel Roesler, UtilityAPI (GBA Vice-Chair), and John Anderson, OhmConnect (GBA Secretary) were reaffirmed by the board to continue in their current Officer positions. Joining the board leadership and newly affirmed in the Treasurer position is Travis Arnce, ENGIE Resources, who assumes the role which was previously held by Cengizhan Yenerim, ENGIE. The GBA welcomes its new directors who commenced their positions on GBA’s Board of Directors on 01 January 2021. 
GBA’s 2020 Annual General Meeting & 5-Year Celebration Highlighted Green Button Advancements & Member Innovation
The Green Button Alliance, formed in 2015, held its recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) online on 22 October, 2020 which highlighted five years of Green Button advancements and member innovation. GBA staff and members of the Board educated attendees on Green Button regulatory advancements in North America, Green Button Connect My Data technical developments, industry collaborations, future direction, and more.
AGM Attendees participated in a live, interactive market survey and GBA members including buildeeLogical Buildings, and UtilityAPI were featured in an Innovators Showcase highlighting the companies’ feature-rich technology, latest implementations and customer successes. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the GBA’s 5th Annual General Meeting. ClearTrace Secures $4 Million in Funding to Scale Verified Carbon Accounting Platform
GBA member ClearTrace, formerly swytchX, announced it has raised $4 million in Series A financing, led by Clean Energy Ventures. Following successful deployment with a Fortune 100 customer, ClearTrace will scale adoption of its financial technology and carbon accounting platform. ClearTrace provides its solution for investors, enterprises, and real estate owners by bringing transparency to corporate carbon reduction through auditable, around-the-clock monitoring of energy generation and consumption. ClearTrace creates verifiable digital records of energy usage and can track third party energy supply, financial power purchase agreements, demand response activities, and multi-stakeholder management of behind-the-meter energy assets. ClearTrace uses cloud technology to digitize the entire energy supply chain and deliver granular, high fidelity, real-time carbon impact data from energy-related activities. Brilliency Streamlines Communications and Transactions Between Utilities and Customers
GBA member Brilliency, provides the Brilliency platform-as-a-service mobile and web apps to streamline communications and transactions between utilities and their business and residential customers. For utilities, the customer engagement and online portal helps utilities reduce operating costs, increase adoption of regulated programs and services, speed deployment of demand response programs, and drive resource efficiency. To encourage all interested parties to communicate openly regardless of linked data, the platform’s new ‘open community’ will soon be available with free access for users.
For business and residential customers, the Brilliency app enables users to view all of their utilities—electricity, gas, and water—in one app that allows them to track and optimize their resource consumption through dynamic insight into usage data. The intuitive, gamified app makes it easy to view usage, report outages, send and receive messages, and learn how to save on costs through energy saving tips tailored for the property. Owners of multi-tenant properties with sub-meter systems can even use Brilliency to deliver meter data to tenants and receive payments for usage. The Brilliency app is free and available now for download on the App Store or Google Play.
