GBA Board of Directors Nominations Now Open!

Participating Members: Nominate a Representative to Run for a Seat on the GBA’s 2026 Board of Directors

The Green Button Alliance is now accepting nominations of Participating Members to run for election to its 2026 Board of Directors.

The GBA’s Board of Directors collaborate to drive standards-based Green Button data technologies that enable energy and water utilities to provide secure, customer data-access and -sharing platforms and new services that leverage standardized Green Button utility customer data.  The GBA’s board is composed of Sponsor Member -delegated directors, Participating Member -elected directors, and Ex-Officio (non-voting) directors.

Each year, the GBA makes two seats available on its Board of Directors for directors elected by its Participating Membership.

The two seats include:

• A Two-Year seat (2026-2027) for the candidate garnering the most votes.
• A One-Year seat (2026) for the candidate garnering the next-most number of votes.

If your company is a Participating Member in the GBA, you can nominate yourself, or someone else from your company, or a candidate from another Participating Member company, to run for a seat on the GBA’s Board of Directors.

Participating Members have already received an email with the subject: “GBA Participating Member Election - Nominations” and can reply with your company’s nomination, or Participating Member employees can find an email address for the nominations’ submission in their Member Compass:

Nominations are now open and will close on the 17th of October 2025.  The election will begin on 20 November 2025 and election results will be announced in December.

The two newly elected directors will commence their positions on the Green Button Alliance’s Board of Directors on 01 January 2026.  Learn more.
