GBA's 2017-2018 Board of Directors Election Results
The GBA held its annual Board of Directors election with Participating Members of the GBA voting to fill two open board seats. Daniel Roesler, CEO, UtilityAPI was elected to serve in the two-year seat and Robert Denda, Head of Network Technology, Global Infrastructure and Networks at Enel was elected to serve in the one-year seat. The GBA welcomes the new directors who will join the current
Board of Directors effective immediately.
Ontario's Long-Term Energy Plan Calls for Expanding Green Button Initiative
On 26 October, GBA member the Ontario Ministry of Energy announced the release of the province's
2017 Long-Term Energy Plan (LTEP) that focuses on energy affordability, innovation and customer choice. The new energy plan calls for expanding Ontario's Green Button initiative across the province to enable consumers with access to their energy data and the ability to securely share their data with apps of their choice to help them to manage and conserve energy.

GBA Provided Insight on Grid Modernization Panel
GBA General Manager, Jeremy J. Roberts, explained the benefits of standardized Green Button energy data during a panel "Exploring New Jersey's Approach to a Modern Grid: Opportunities & Pathways to a Clean Energy Future" held at Rutgers University's EcoComplex on 25 October. GBA member Nathan Shannon of the Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative (SECC) moderated the panel which also included speakers from Itron and Utilidata.
Enel Opens Latest Innovation Hub
On 16-18 October, Enel participated in the Open Innovations Forum 2017 held in Moscow, where it also
inaugurated its latest Enel Innovation Hub with headquarters in the Skolkovo Technopark in Moscow. This new Hub is part of an international network of centers the company has established to bring together innovators and follows the recent opening of an Enel Innovation Hub in San Francisco, California. GBA Vice Chair to Impart Expertise at Australian Utility Week
GBA Vice Chair, Mimi Zhang of Silver Spring Networks will impart expertise during three sessions at Australian Utility Week taking place 29-30 November 2017 in Melbourne, Australia. On 29 November, Zhang will speak on the panel "AMI Analytics and Customer Data."
