On May 15, 2026, NAESB published Version 4.1 of the RMQ Model Business Practices. The latest version reflects several major development efforts and incorporates five final actions and four minor corrections approved by the RMQ between December 2023 and April 2026. Significant additions include the NAESB Base Contract for the Sale and Purchase of Distribution Grid Services from Distributed Energy Resource Aggregations and accompanying Conditions Precedent Addendum, as well as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Model Business Practices designed to support the automation of transactions utilizing the contract and addendum. Version 4.1 also includes cybersecurity enhancements and updates to the Energy Services Provider Interface (ESPI) standards supporting Green Button implementations in the United States and Canada.
