GBA Has Outstanding Showing at DistribuTECH 2018

GBA Members Imparted Expertise During 'Consumer Access to Energy Data' Session at SECC's 2018 Symposium
On 22 January, at the Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative's (SECC) 2018 Consumer Symposium, "Transforming the Customer Relationship,"  co-located with DistribuTECH 2018 in San Antonio, Texas, Green Button Alliance members, Ontario Ministry of Energy and Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), were joined by Tendril on the "Enabling Consumers with Access, Choice and Control of their Energy Data" panel. The well-attended session was led by Jeremy J. Roberts, General Manager, GBA, and it featured an interactive, audience-polling question-and-answer portion, with panelists' also providing responses.

GBA Exhibited at DistribuTECH 2018
From 23-25 January, the Green Button Alliance exhibited  in a member-oriented booth at DistribuTECH 2018. GBA members staffing the booth educated attendees on best-practices for enabling utility customer access to, and sharing of, standards-based Green Button energy data.  GBA members including utility data-access experts UtilityAPI were on-hand to answer attendee questions and discuss capabilities of new Green Button solutions.

Utility London Hydro offered an educational demonstration on the value of Green Button energy data behind-the-meter. The  GBA thanks member companies including ENGIE, Southern California Edison (SCE), San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), London Hydro, UtilityAPI, Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative (SECC), and the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) for their support and participation in the GBA's booth at DistribuTECH 2018.
GBA's 2018 Annual General Meeting 
The Green Button Alliance held its Annual General Meeting & Breakfast at The Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, on 24 January to coincide with DistribuTECH 2018. Attendees from  leading utilities, governmental departments and agencies, solution providers, and industry associations gathered to discuss successes and industry forward-movement  for  standards-based Green Button energy usage data, implementations, applications, and services; internationally.

The meeting featured an insightful keynote from Green Button Alliance board member Cengizhan Yenerim of ENGIE, who addressed the energy revolution, customer centricity, and the importance of access to data. Other presenters included Usman Syed of the Ontario Ministry of Energy, who discussed the path forward for consumer access to energy data in Ontario, Canada, and other speakers who highlighted new Green Button developments and programs. The Green Button Alliance thanks member ENGIE for hosting the meeting and breakfast and the attendees for their participation during the meeting.
