Data collected on this website are used only in the course of the business of the Green Button Alliance.  Voluntarily submitted data (e.g., through sign-up for newsletters or to participate as an employee of a Member Company or Organization) may include but are not limited to email addresses, mailing or physical addresses, telephone numbers, images, names, URLs, revenue ranges, and descriptions.

Opinions in any forum of the website or posted through the uploading of documents may also be collected.  The website is not intended for use by minors and data are not intended to be collected from anyone under the age of 13 years.

Collected data may be stored in servers in the United States of America, Canada, the European Union, and/or any other nation through caching and/or redundancy for increased speed and/or erasure-risk reduction.

By using the Green Button Alliance website, you consent to the collection and use of the data as aforementioned and agree to hold harmless Green Button Alliance Inc. for any violation or potential violation of U.S., Canadian, European, or other state, provincial, national, or international laws.

Permitted Uses

You are not permitted to use this website, any other Green Button Alliance website (for example but not limited to: GreenButtonData.org), nor the data contained on these websites (collectively and individually: “GBA Resources”) other than for the following, private, non-commercial purposes:

  1. viewing GBA Resources with a non-automated Internet-browser application;
  2. making references to pages within GBA Resources;
  3. modifying your own, personal listings/profile within GBA Resources;
  4. modifying your employer’s listings within GBA Resources if granted explicit permissions by your employer;
  5. transferring to other websites and/or resources through links or other references provided on GBA Resources;
  6. using the Green Button Directory Services (GBDS) through a non-automated Internet-browser application;

The use of automated systems or software to extract data from GBA Resources for commercial purposes (known as “screen scraping” and known by other terms) is prohibited unless the party desiring to extract data has directly concluded a written license agreement with us explicitly permitting such access, and said party abides by the contractual agreement therein including but not limited to duration, termination, scope, compensation, resale, sharing, representation, and competition.

Web Hosting and Analytics

The GreenButtonAlliance.org website of the nonprofit Green Button Alliance Inc. (GBA) is hosted by NOVI AMS, LLC, a for-profit company based in the USA.

The GreenButtonData.org website is hosted by the GBA, as-of 2017.

The GBA website uses Alphabet Inc.’s Google Analytics (G4) to help ensure that our pages can be reached successfully and that we are meeting the goals of the GBA membership.

Presently, we do NOT use the “Advertising Features” of Google Analytics, which include Demographics and Interest reporting, Remarketing, GDN Impression Reporting, and the DoubleClick Campaign Manager integration.  If we begin using those services, our Privacy Policy will be updated.  In any case, you are able to opt-out of Google advertising features.
